ETF look-through: see what your ETFs really hold
An ETF is a basket. Owning three or four of them means owning thousands of companies, some of them several times over. Look-through opens every basket and adds up what is inside, so you see your real exposure.
What look-through shows
LTP takes each fund in your portfolio, replaces it with the holdings its issuer publishes, and adds them to the shares you own directly. The result is one list: every company you own, with its full weight across all your funds. Apple held through a world ETF, an S&P 500 ETF and a technology ETF appears once, with the total.
The same breakdown gives your real split by sector, country, region and currency, and with company groups switched on a parent and its subsidiaries count together (Volkswagen with Porsche and Traton, Deutsche Telekom with T-Mobile US).
Which ETFs are covered
Holdings for over 2,000 UCITS ETFs come built in, from the issuers' own files (iShares, Vanguard, Amundi, Xtrackers, SPDR, Invesco and others), refreshed regularly. For any other fund you can upload the holdings file from the issuer's website, in CSV or Excel, in whatever layout the issuer uses.
How to use it
- Import your Interactive Brokers statement, or type in your positions.
- Open Look-through: funds with known holdings are broken down automatically.
- Check Concentration for the largest companies, sectors and countries against limits you set.
Questions
Is ETF look-through free?
Yes. LTP is free and needs no account.
Is my portfolio uploaded anywhere?
No. Statements and files are read inside your browser and your portfolio is saved only on your device.
How current are the holdings?
Built-in holdings come from the issuers' latest published files; each fund shows the date of its file. A file you upload always takes precedence.
